Having a girl has been a dream of mine since…well, forever. I had SO much fun throwing this party with everything pink and girly for my baby’s first birthday! In this blog post I will share where I got all the pink decor, some things I had fun diy and making myself and of course her cute outfit and activites!

Party Favors
Girls just wanna be one was our theme. I loved it, it’s not overdone, and was so fun! Bow themes and bow parties are really “in” right now so I had a really easy time finding decor. I did pink as the main color (of course!) with pops of funfetti / traditional party colors. Here is the inspiration board I made:

I wanted the party to be super girly and fun. And I’d say we pulled it off!
I made the invitations myself in Canva and then sent them out via Paperless Post.
Entry sign
I designed this in Canva and then had it printed at Walgreens. No joke – it was ready in an hour after I placed the order! I am so happy with how it turned out! I printed it on 20×30 Paper Board. There was a 50% coupon available and this ended up being around $17. My husband drilled holes in the top and I tied ribbon through it to hang it on this gold sign display stand. I initially had the board on an easel, but my husband told me it looked like a funeral (LOL), so I got this gold stand instead!

Cupcake picks
I ordered custom cowboy cupcake toppers for my son’s first birthday off Etsy, but this year was a last minute addition. I just made these in Canva myself and printed them at home. Cutting them out took some time, but they added a cute little addition to the cupcakes.

If you are not crafty, or don’t have time to make them and cut them out, here are some cute cupcake toppers I found on Etsy!

Party favors
I made little bags of candy salad for the party favors and added a cute little sticker (made in Canva) and some ribbon. Here are the bags I used (fun fact: these were leftover from my son’s 2nd birthday that was a “Two Sweet” theme! Read about our Two Sweet 2nd birthday party here. Any ribbon would be cute, but here are the 2 I used! Star garland and pink tulle. I just used a hole punch and tied them through above the seal.

Bounce house
The main activity we had was a pink bounce house! It was a hit! I mainly got it because I also have a 4 year old and most of my friends have kids between 1-4 years old, so I wanted something for them to do. But my daughter also had a blast bouncing! We rented it through the Dallas Party. They delivered it a day early so we got to have some family time on it and get some good pictures, then the kids went wild the following day! I was very happy with their communication, and they handled the delivery, set up and tear down completely. If you’re in the Dallas area, I would highly recommend them! They have a ton of colors and styles. We went with the Mod – Pink. (This is not sponsored – I wish!!)

Her outfit is from Stitchy Fish, but looks like it is sold out! I’ll link a few similar styles below:

Princess Crowns
Another activity I set out was making crowns. I ordered these crown making kits (I got 2 sets) and just set them out in a bowl outside and the kids loved it! It was perfect for this age as they are learning how to spell their name. The kids put the little stickers on spelling their name and jewels were everywhere ◡̈

One more thing I DIY-ed was the custom birthday keepsake cups! I made these for my son’s 1st Rodeo themed party and they turned out so cute! This was my husband’s one request. I designed the logo in Canva and had them printed at Discount Mugs.

For food we had:
Chick-fil-A chicken nuggets (two 30 counts) and these were scooped up quickly! We could’ve used another (90 total). I put the nuggets in the 1 fillable tray from Hobby Lobby with parchment paper underneath. Also available on Amazon here (but much cheaper at Hobby Lobby!) I wanted to do the ONE letter fillable trays but they didn’t have a N at the store.

Fruit & veggie tray: We got strawberries, watermelon, carrots, and clementines. I wanted a healthier option!
For the kids: I had Go Go Squeez pouches, Bear fruit roll ups, and goldfish.

Desserts:
Cookie cake from Jessica’s Bake Shop (local in Allen, TX) – the best!!!
Cupcakes from HEB. I would normally order from Market Street but HEB was closer and I was prioritizing convenience! I asked for 2 dozen (which was perfect – we had 11 leftover) 8 light pink frosting, 8 dark pink, and 8 white. Most people ate the cookie cake!
Candy Salad

For the cupcake toppers I did a combo of pink ribbons and my daughter’s face with party hats I made in Canva & printed/cut at home. I thought I was ordering cupcake picks with the ribbons but they just came with ribbons, so I ended up hot gluing them to toothpicks and then cutting the tails so they weren’t too long. I got the pink ribbons on SHEIN. And I added cute sprinkles I found at Hobby Lobby! Here are some similar on Amazon.
Drinks
In the drink dispenser we had water and pink lemonade with edible glitter!!! It was so cute. We also had Coke Zero, orange juice, and champagne for mimosas.

Now for the fun part: decor! I discovered a whole new world in the party realm…FB Marketplace! I was trying to not go overboard on spending money for this party but I still wanted it to be cute. I REALLY wanted a balloon arch so the week before, I was looking on FB Marketplace for a balloon arch because a lot of poeple give them away for free or very cheap after events! I was blessed to have a neighbor who has a baby a month older than EL, who so graciously gave us her leftover balloon arch that still looked good from the month prior!
I also searched our theme in FB Marketplace and this banner popped up! Someone local had made it for their own daughter’s party, sold it to someone else doing that theme, and I was the proud 3rd owner of this butcher paper banner for just $20. Now I can re-sell it to someone else and pass on the love!

My mom sews, so I asked her to make this bow to hang on a wreath on our front door for the party! I also plan to use it for the month of February for Valentine’s Day and my birthday. I originally found a bow on Etsy that I loved but didn’t have $75 to spend on it! (Update: It looks like it is sold out, but here is another cute one from the shop!)
Table Decor
How cute is this pink gingham check tablecloth?! Linked here. Be sure to try it out before the party! I opened everything and set it up a few days before, only to find out the tablecloth I ordered first was too short and didn’t cover the entire table! Thankfully I had time and Amazon Prime to deliver the correct size before the party!
High chair banner
I found this cute ONE high chair banner on SHEIN. I’ve seen these all over, so I’ll link a few options for you! Click on the images to shop. I just used tape to secure the bows on the side and the letters.

I found the pink glittery 1 cupcake stick at Hobby Lobby and tied pink tulle and pink gingham check ribbon to it. We did a cupcake instead of cake and decided not to do a candle because…fire + a curious 1 year old isn’t the best combo. My neighbor let us borrow this cute cake stand!
We strung 3 multi-colored pennant banners across our entryway from upstairs and it was so cute! I’m not sure I have a picture but you can see it in the background!

Flowers
I got all the flowers for the party the day before at Trader Joe’s! I would normally buy 2 large arrangements and put them in the same vase, but since it’s November they were all fall themed. So I bought a bunch of flowers and put the arrangements together myself.

Miscellaneous:
– Napkins from TJ Maxx and Michael’s
– Pink forks from Hobby Lobby
