It’s officially my favorite time of year! I am so happy the weather is cooler, it’s football season, I can throw on my sweatshirts and watch the leaves start to change colors. I’m just in a better mood β‘Μ π
Loving this cropped puffer vest – and it’s only $11!

At the end of September, Spencer reached 1500 hours of flying! If you’re not familiar with the aviation industry, this is the required number of hours by the FAA to be eligible to fly for an airline. He is currently working as a flight instructor and applying to airlines. We would appreciate your prayers that he gets a great job offer, that it is the perfect airline for our family (preferably with a DFW base) and for a smooth transition for this next BIG change for our family! Jett and I got to go up with Spencer for his 1500 hour flight! βοΈ
This month over Jett’s fall break we spent a week with my family in Oahu, Hawaii! It was the longest flight we’ve ever done with Jett, but went surprisingly better than I had hoped! We stayed at The Kahala Resort, enjoyed time at the pool and the beach, sipped on Mai Tais, enjoyed malasadas and shave ice on the North Shore. We had a dolphin and ocean view – it can’t get much better than that! It was a perfect week celebrating my dad’s 60th birthday with family. My parents, me, Spencer, Jett, my brother and his new wife all came and we had a blast getting our vitamin sea! ποΈπΊπ ππ
We took Jett to Preston Trail Farms in Gunter, TX for a fun day of petting farm animals, hay rides, and pumpkins! This is our second year going here and it’s worth the drive! π
Here’s what shows I’m watching this month (in order of enjoyment).

The Bible
I started reading the Bible this year and understanding it better than I ever have. I’ve been on a journey of discovering what I really believe and why, and have been reading the Bible almost every day. I grew up Christian and have been going to church my whole life, but for the first time in my life am reading books of the Bible I’ve never read and really having a whole new understanding of Jesus and faith.
If you’re curious or wanting to learn more, I highly recommend reading for yourself, joining a church, and getting into a community.
Here’s the Bible I have. I like that it has space in the margins to write notes. I’ve also been reading a passage by myself first, then going to Enduring Word Commentary which explains more context and history and interprets things that I never would have understood otherwise.
I’d recommend reading Genesis first, maybe Exodus, then the gospels: John, Mark, Matthew, Luke. The Bible is basically a library of 66 different books written by different people. There’s no “right” or “wrong” way to read, but here’s sort of the order I started reading in: sparked by my curiosity on Revelations, which I had never read before.
I’ve been making my coffee at home more, and have finally perfected my drink so I thought I’d share my recipe! β
Iced shaken espresso
Here’s what you need:
2. Brew a double espresso dolce nespresso pod over the ice
3. While it is brewing, get the glass/cup you want to use and fill it with ice and a splash of vanilla syrup
4. As soon as it’s done, shake it up until it feels cold (not hot)
5. Pour it over the ice in your cup
6. Add a splash of brown sugar oat creamer from Trader Joe’s
That’s it!

We wrapped up the month with some chilly weather (30’s!!!!) For Halloween, Jett was a Texas A&M football player and his grandma and great-grandma (Dee Dee & Mamaw – Spencer’s mom and grandma) came in town to go trick-or-treating with Jett! We were all referees β‘Μ π»
