February is one of my favorite months! The winter blues start to dissipate, the spring weather is here & the flowers are starting to bloom. My love of pink has me excited for Valentine’s Day, it’s my birthday month and all the freebies and celebrations that come with it, and then we roll into celebrating Jett’s birthday once March comes around!
Spencer got home at the end of January from being away for 26 days of training. See our January recap here. He had another 9 days of training after that, but thankfully it was in Irving, TX so we got to see him most of the days! We even spent the night at the hotel with him one night just “for fun.” Which, with a toddler…maybe “fun” isn’t the right word, but it was a memory-maker for sure.
Jett is at such a fun age for holidays now! He understands more and gets excited when he gets presents! I made him a Valentine’s Day basket with some of his favorite juice boxes, fruit snacks, books, and mess free coloring pages. We had a chill family breakfast with heart waffles from IKEA and fruit. His class had a little party and he came home with lots of goodies!
Spencer took me out to lunch at J. Theodore’s in Frisco while Jett was at school!
Here’s what shows I’m watching this month:
The Bachelor (ABC, Hulu)
Love is Blind (Netflix)
The Traitors (Peacock)
I am in denial that I am 33 years old. It doesn’t feel real…I still feel about 25! Life is moving too fast.
This birthday was a little different. Spencer bid for his schedule months ago and got the one he wanted, which included being home for my birthday and Jett’s birthday. But, we didn’t know that he would have a transitional schedule for February & March and that he would be gone for both of our birthdays. He ended up having to work, so I spent my first birthday since we’ve been married alone. I was honestly very disappointed but I tried to make the most of it.
We celebrated my birthday early just in case he would be gone, and Jett & Spencer brought me coffee & breakfast in bed. Spencer got me this towel warmer I’ve been wanting for years! It is so boujee and truly elevates shower/bath time. I use it every day & highly recommend!! Spencer took me out to a birthday dinner in downtown McKinney before he left and that was really special.
The day of my birthday I dropped Jett off at school then got my free Starbucks. Then I headed to DryBar and got a blow out for the first time! It was really fun – they gave me a mimosa and I watched Crazy Rich Asians as I got my hair done.
After my hair appointment, I got lunch at Mi Cocina at The Shops at Legacy with my aunt & uncle. It was the perfect spring patio weather and of course I ordered a Mambo Taxi. The funniest part was that my aunt showed up wearing the EXACT same sweater as me!
My parents came in town the following weekend and we continued the celebrations with a family birthday dinner at Sixty Vines.

Spencer got back from his OE rotation/first trip on February 27th, then we headed to Disney on Feb 28th to take Jett for his 3rd birthday! I’m working on a Disneyland roundup blog post & will link it soon!
Spencer is in his transitional schedule until April, so March will be a bit abnormal for our family with Spencer having an 8 day & 12 day trip. It makes it hard to get into a routine, but I am trying my best to manage it all and stay sane and figure out how to solo parent half the month from here on out.
In more fun news, Jett turns 3 on March 7! It should be a pretty chill month, with not many plans aside from dog sitting for a few families!
