I never published November’s, so we’ll do a November-December recap here! We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!
Big update: Spencer got a job! ✈️ He will be starting with a private charter airline the day after Christmas. His training will be all of January and part of February (as far as we know.) This will be a HUGE transition for our family and we are excited and thankful.
In November we traveled to AZ for my cousin Kasey’s wedding reception & my grandma’s funeral service. It was good to be with family and enjoy the nice desert weather this time of year.
We celebrated Thanksgiving with Spencer’s family in Indiana this year. Jett had a blast playing with his cousins. It wouldn’t be a holiday travel weekend without a flight delay…on our way home to Texas our flight was supposed to depart at 8:00pm and ended up leaving around midnight. Being stuck in the Indianapolis airport with all the shops/restaurants closed with a tired toddler was something I don’t wish to repeat, but we survived.
We hosted Christmas at our house in Texas this year! We went to the ICE exhibit at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine and Jett loved it! We also hosted our annual Christmas sweater party with friends. This was Jett’s 3rd Christmas and it was so magical! He really understood things, knows who Baby Jesus, Mary & Joseph are, and had a blast leaving cookies out and getting a present from Santa 😉

I like to have a themed cocktail at my parties & this one is a hit for Christmas!
Here’s what you need:
First, prep your martini glasses with a sugar rim. This looks so pretty around the holidays! You can do this step before the party. I also like to add a mini candy cane hanging off the side for a festive touch.
Then, pour 1-1.5 shots of vodka in the martini glass. Fill the rest of the glass with cranberry or cranapple juice. Squeeze one lime wedge on top and that’s it!
Optional: add a splash of Grand Marnier, Sprite or champagne to top it off.
I’m working on updating my closet, finally getting rid of clothes I wore a decade ago, and trying to be more stylish! I’ve found a ton of cute things at Pink Lily! The New Year is just a few days away! I always love this time of year…a fresh start, new goals, making vision boards, and planning. And then Valentine’s Day and my birthday, then Jett’s follows shortly after so the celebrations continue!
I usually have big goals, but this year is a little different. I realize it’s a huge time of adjustment for our family with Spencer starting a new job and me being a SAHM. It will take a few months to get into a new rhythm as a family. I just want to enjoy time with my little family and the simple things in life, and let myself relax and reset after spending the past 2.5 years working full time AND being a SAHM. I need a break!
I plan to unplug for the month of January and get back to basics. Less mindless scrolling, and more creativity, cooking, reading, and IRL connection. What are your new year’s resolutions?
