We had a trip to Florida planned before we knew we were pregnant, so at 14 weeks pregnant we packed up and headed to Boca Raton, Florida for what turned into a mini babymoon! I planned the trip through Costco Travel, which I highly recommend. We have saved SO much money on trips by booking through Costco! Anyways, we wanted to go somewhere with a resort feel, but also wanted to stay in the US. That left Hawaii and Florida as options through Costco, and since Hawaii is shutdown, that took us to Boca Raton, Florida! Costco has “all inclusive” type deals where we booked our flights, hotel, and rental car all together for less than we would have spent on just the hotel rooms if we had booked through the resort!

The Boca Beach Club Resort was our home for the weekend, and it was absolutely stunning. We were even upgraded to an ocean view room, which was breathtaking. The resort was not crowded at all, so we were able to relax on the beach, sipping on (virgin) piña coladas and daiquiris, under the shade of beach umbrellas, with poolside service.

We tried a few local restaurants, our favorites of which were Luff’s Fish House and Tucci’s Pizza. Luff’s was a little expensive, (we paid $12 for a slice of key lime pie) but the patio atmosphere was great. They even had a live band with a steel drum – very tropical vibe. As for Tucci’s, we liked it so much, we had it for dinner two days in a row! We dined in one night, and the next night we ordered pizza and salad for take out. We ate it in our hotel room while watching Netflix in our hotel robes and had picked up some ice cream at a local grocery store! Spencer also found a cool Starbucks right on the beach in Fort Lauderdale. We found a souvenir type shop just south of Boca Raton in Deerfield Beach. So, if you’re traveling to Boca Raton, Florida, these are the places we recommend! I found a local photographer, (ND Photography) to take some beach photos we could use for our pregnancy announcement. We did a 30 minute mini session on the beach right before sunset which was so fun! I love how the pictures came out!
