Get organized & plan out your month.
Write a list of the things you want to do, then grab your calendar. Put each item on the calendar, and move it around if needed. If you just have an idea in your head, it’s probably not going to happen if you don’t plan for it. And the best way to do this, is to put it on your calendar! I use the Apple calendar and have different colors for different categories.
Unfollow accounts that don’t inspire you.
This is so important for your mental health. Go through all the pages and accounts you follow. If they don’t bring you joy, or bring up a negative feeling, a feeling of jealousy, or it’s just a page of a place you’re never going to shop…click that unfollow button! This includes friends, celebrities, influencers, retail stores, or meme accounts.
Spend time with people who you want to be like.
One of my goals for 2022 is to reach out to 1 stranger who I look up to each month and ask them to coffee. You are the company you keep. Make sure who you are spending time with is who you want to become!
Have a positive mindset.
This sounds so cheesy, but believing in myself is something I am working on. It is easy to fall into a negative mindset so I am working on reframing my thoughts and speaking truth to myself. I have written some positive affirmations on my bathroom mirror with a dry erase marker that helps keep me focused on what is true. What you believe is what you will become.
Watch less TV.
There was a point earlier this year where I had a show I would watch almost every day of the week. It was entertaining for a moment, but I felt like I was wasting away my time. I am focusing on spending that time cleaning or doing a house project or reading a book. But I will never give up my Bachelor Mondays! 🙂
6. Have an evening routine.
Before going to bed, I brush my teeth & wash my face, then put on my eye cream & moisturizer before slipping into my PJs. I turn on my heating pad and get snuggled into bed. Sometimes I’ll read a chapter of a book before going to sleep. My routine isn’t elaborate, but it’s something.
7. Schedule breaks.
Get out that calendar again and schedule a break for yourself once a month. This could be a literal vacation or road trip where you get away and unwind, or just a day at the spa or out shopping, or coffee with a friend. As a new mom, this is something I am doing in 2022 to break up the monotony of daily life with a newborn.
